Who we are
Rooted in the Word is made by Shawn Brooks through Divine Brook Ministries ("we"). Questions about this policy can be sent to support@divinebrookministries.org.
What stays on your iPhone
The app stores these only on your device:
- your notes, highlights and prayer journal;
- your reading plan progress, challenges and reminders;
- the first name you enter for greetings, and your settings.
The app shares some of this, such as your name and today's reading, with its own Home Screen widget on the same iPhone. Nothing is sent to us. Your device's own iCloud or computer backup may include this data, under Apple's terms.
Purchases
Rooted Plus is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. The app asks Apple whether Plus has been purchased and remembers the answer on your device.
Your App Store country
The app reads which country your App Store account is set to, using Apple's App Store service, so it shows only the Bible translations that may be offered there. This stays on your iPhone.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Notifications, for the reading and verse reminders you set. They are scheduled on your iPhone.
- Adding to your Photos, only when you choose to save a verse image. The app can't read your photo library.
Backups and sharing
When you export a backup or share a verse, the app hands the file or image to the place you choose, such as Files, Messages or Mail. What happens to it there is up to you and that service.
Links to other websites
A few links open other sites, such as a video on YouTube or Apple's refund page. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Children
We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future version works differently, for example by adding an online feature, we'll update this page and its date before that version is released, and explain the change in the app.

This website
This website has no analytics, advertising, or third-party scripts. If you change the appearance or reading font, your browser remembers those preferences locally. You can clear them using your browser’s site-data settings.
Standard server access logs may record requests to the website for operations and security. This is separate from the iPhone app, which does not send us your reading, notes, prayers, or progress.
Emailing support
When you email support, we receive your message and email address so we can respond. Please do not include passwords, payment details, or private notes from the app.
